Culinary Challenge - Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne

Last Thursday I attended a fabulous event at my university, the prestigious Ecole hôteliere de Lausanne.

The “Culinary Challenge” is a bi-yearly event that challenges its participants to define the perfect menu. After wining against the EHL Alumni last year the student team was challenged by a team of faculty members to create the most compelling menu in just a few hours.

I thought it was time to write about something different. About a mix of art, hospitality and epicure highlights.

I spend the night surrounded by connoisseurs while tasting the different creations of both teams. At the same time we were also judges and graded every dish in order to select the winning team. We did not know from which team the courses where but this made the whole evening more interesting and challenging.

Faculty members won the challenge against the students by 1-point difference. The first time teachers eliminate our potential students in many years.

In this occasion I would like to thank everyone who contributed to make this event possible. The Student Council, the staff, the sponsors and of course the participants.
